Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo continued their method dressing streak at the premiere of “Wicked” on Thursday in New York City. The stars of the film adaptation of the Tony Award-winning musical hit the red carpet, joined by a bevy of A-list stars and their co-stars.
For the occasion, Grande opted for a custom pink satin dress by Louis Vuitton. The strapless dress featured a sweetheart neckline and a fitted, corseted bodice. The dress also featured a peplum detail at the waist that flowed into fabric ruffles with a bubble hem.

The skirt of the dress featured a column silhouette. Grande paired her dress with matching pointed heels. The singer and actress wore sparkling jewelry, including earrings and a necklace. Grande’s look was curated by stylist Mimi Cuttrell.
When it came to her attire, Cynthia Erivo opted to add a slightly sheer twist to the popular dark glamor red carpet trend. The Oscar-nominated actress and Tony Award winner wore a custom Christian Dior dress.
The dress featured a voluminous skirt, a cinched waist and a strapless bodice. Over the top, Erivo styled a semi-sheer long-sleeved turtleneck top. She wore statement rings, earrings and a necklace. Her look was curated by stylist Jason Bolden.
While on the promotional tour for their upcoming film, both Erivo and Grande took inspiration from their characters for their press tour wardrobe. Erivo favored dark glamor looks that reflected her character Elphaba, while Grande favored a range of pink tones and feminine silhouettes, reminiscent of her character Glinda.
“Wicked” tells the origin stories of the Wicked Witch of the West and Glinda, the good witch from “The Wizard of Oz.” The film partners are Jeff Goldblum, Jonathan Bailey and Oscar winner Michelle Yeoh. “Wicked” hits theaters on November 22nd.
